Congratulations, Abe! A New Chapter in Resale Leadership

We have some exciting news to share from Article!

Our very own Abe Sanchez has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for NARTS, the National Association of Resale & Thrift Shops.

And yes, we’re pretty proud. 💞

For Abe, this is an opportunity to take what he has learned through years in the resale and consignment world and bring that experience to a larger conversation—while also learning alongside other leaders who understand this industry from the inside out.

So, What Is NARTS?

NARTS is a professional trade association serving the resale, consignment, and thrift industry. It began in 1984, when two Chicago resale shop owners came together with the idea of creating an association where people in the industry could connect and support one another. More than four decades later, NARTS continues to bring together store owners, managers, employees, multi-location businesses, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and industry partners from across the resale community.

In fact, NARTS describes itself as the largest and longest-standing resale association, with a focus on education, practical resources, industry knowledge, professional connection, and helping resale businesses grow stronger together.

That mission feels especially close to home for us.

Article has always believed that resale is about much more than what happens when a beautiful piece changes hands. It’s about extending the life of great fashion, creating a more thoughtful way to shop, building relationships, and continually learning how we can better serve our customers and consignors.

What Does Serving on the Board Mean?

The NARTS Board helps guide the future of the organization and represents the interests of its members and the broader resale industry. Its responsibilities include setting strategic direction, establishing policies, participating in strategic planning, and helping plan for NARTS' continued growth and success.

For Abe, that means an opportunity to serve, contribute, collaborate, and learn alongside other experienced leaders in resale—and bring those conversations and insights back home to Article.

We’re excited to see where this new role takes him and equally excited to have someone from our own Article community helping contribute to what comes next for an industry we care so much about.
